What's the difference between Baseline360 and Everest?
Baseline 360 (BL360) is a mapping program with entry-level functionality. It will allow you to create features based on metes & bounds or quartering descriptions. The user is limited to displaying 5 layers at a time. Everest GIS Professional is the enhanced version of BL360 giving the user almost unlimited control. The user has the ability to add unlimited layers, access to over 30 tools, the ability to connect their maps with a Visual LandPro 2000 Database, access to Label Placement, and more!

Our Geology Department uses another program and needs to see our maps what do we do?
This is the case with most E & P Companies. Everest has the ability to create the industry standard Shape files (.shp). For example, a user can bring in well data they’ve purchased from vendor “X” via an .XLS file. They can then turn around and export that .XLS layer to .SHP which can be imported into nearly every GIS program on the market. Data can also flow in the other direction in situations where the Geology department creates files for their use that are generally saved in .shp format. These files can simply be added as layers inside of Everest and will appear in their geo-referenced locations.

Can I display any Easements I may have?
Absolutely, most easements are accompanied by an abstract. They are usually simple Metes & Bounds calls which can either be Auto Converted or Drawn on a call by call basis. Some vendors even sell some easement (.shp) files. These can just be added as a layer to any map.

Can I print to my Plotter?
Yes, Everest allows the printing of large maps this includes 24” x 48”, 42” x 42”, and 24” x 36” maps. Through the Page Layout the user can specify the size and DPI of their map via their printer settings and even view it in true size before sending it to the plotter. This is great for creating PDFs of maps for clients who need a copy but don’t want the burden of large paper maps.

GIS is new to me do you offer training?
Yes we do! We offer 1-day and 3-day training courses designed for users who have little to no experience with mapping systems. The course is built around Everest GIS Pro, and the users will learn how to build a map from scratch including deciphering those long legal descriptions and quarter calls. At the end of class the user will be able to successfully create, map, and print items inside of Everest.
